No sound and other fixes
The usual reasons for silence, a dry signal, clicks, or a plugin your DAW can’t see.
No sound at all
- Is the license panel showing? An unactivated or expired app is silent until you activate it.
- Is the input muted? If you see “Audio input is muted to avoid feedback loop”, untick Mute audio input in Audio Setup.
- Is the right input ticked? Your guitar may be on Input 2 while Input 1 is the one ticked.
- On a Mac, does the app have microphone access? System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.
- Does the status bar say NO AUDIO DEVICE? Click it and pick your interface.
I hear a dry guitar
- Turn off your interface’s direct monitoring.
- Is BYPASS ALL on? It reads BYPASSED and the window says CHAIN BYPASSED. Click it to bring the effects back.
- Is a section’s power switch down on its tab?
Clicks and crackles
The buffer is too small for the work. Raise it one size, or make the chain lighter: see DSP load.
My DAW can’t find the plugin
- Logic Pro only loads AU. Run the Mac AU + VST3 installer and look under Audio FX › Audio Units.
- On Windows, unblock the ZIP before extracting, and copy the .vst3 into
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. Then rescan. - See Install on Mac and Windows.
